Wintry Loop

I just finished off a new scarf/cowl for this winter. I like to refer to it as a loop because essentially, it is one. The loop can be worn as is, or wrapped around your neck twice. I found the pattern on Ravelry, but it originally hailed from Haley Waxberg on Knitomatic.

The pattern was super easy, and only took about an hour to complete, although I altered the pattern slightly. Check it out here!

Wreath-y

You're all probably groaning at me right now for even bringing up the idea of wreaths when Thanksgiving has yet to pass. However, I'm eschewing you all and making a wreath themed post, because I'm prematurely feeling the holiday spirit, and have been loving these non-piney, doughnut shaped holiday door decorators. Enjoy!

Crafting

Yesterday I went to Target with my mom and aunt and our first stop once inside was the clearance bins, of course. There, I found a set of 8 blank cards (4 with polka dots, 4 without), and a little spool of 6 ribbons, a yard each. They were both only $1 so I got them (well, my mom technically got them). Since then I've been busy decorating my cards. So far I only know what I'm going to do with one of them and I've made three.

Here are a couple of my projects:

1) I don't really like the cloud so I'm toying with putting ribbon on it to make the shape a little more cloud-like. For this one I just glued the ribbon directly onto the card.

2)On this one, I started with a paper cut-out of a heart and glued the ribbon onto that so I could go in after and trim it down. Before attaching the heart to the card it looked like this:

I can't post the third card quite yet because it's being sent to someone who might see this and I want them to see it in their mailbox before they do on the internet!

Wacky Wednesday

Have you ever heard of that amazing fictional teenager Georgia Nicholson? Well, if you haven't, I'm very sad on your behalf. She is HILARIOUS, and totally cool, and says words like nuddy-pants. Therefore, for my Wacky thing numero uno, I'm suggesting you all start off March by reading, Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, by Louise Rennison.
       

Next, I have an amazing free download for you. It's ridiculously catchy and you will have it on repeat all night long. The song is called 1901 and it's by the french band Phoenix. Their new album, entitled, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is scheduled to be released May 25, and I'm sure I'll be reviewing it then also. So, I had planned to feature on this Wacky Wednesday was my Converse that I decorated with fabric scraps. Unfortunately, it appears that I have yet to take any 'after' photos of them, so, I'll save that one for another day.

Wacky Wednesday

Welcome to Wacky Wednesday! Now, let me preface this post by saying that I love Wednesdays, and not just because it's a short day and I have eighth period free (although that is a major perk). Wednesdays are great for so many reasons. Half the week is over, you can start thinking about the weekend, one begins to feel as though some of the pressure is being lifted, and it's just a really nice inbetweenish type of day. So, due to my love of Wednesdays, and the great alliteration of the name, "Wacky Wednesday", I bring you my newest theme, so to speak. Every Wednesday, I will post some random things that I've seen around the web, or in my life from the previous week. Crafting. Finally.

So now that it's vacation, I have had sometime to put my hellish, stressful school life on hold and live it up. Between Friday afternoon and Saturday night, I was with friends basically the whole time (a miracle, since most Friday's I'd rather cozy up on the couch and ignore massive amounts of homework). And yesterday, I broke out the sewing machine. Finally. It had been in hibernation for way too long, despite the fact that I managed to make 2 bags this fall. And now, I have a quilt and a dress in the works, along with gloves to finish knitting, and a solitary sock that's in desperate need of a friend. That's all for today, I'll end this post with some photos of what's cookin'. (all lies. at 10 this morning, while writing the majority of this post, i was feeling seriously ambitious about this day. it ended, but photoless, and with me asleep on the couch, probably snoring. much was accomplished though, and photos will follow eventually)
