Today, I wore a bright red shirt. Partially because I woke up late and running into my mom's closet, it was the first thing I saw. On the other hand, it was a great mood booster. The bright, chocolate heart wrapper, totally valentines-ey color made me feel rosy and happy all day long. Getting sucked into the gloom and doom of February is hard to avoid, but with a bright red shirt, you can take on the world. So let's do it, one from one red-shirted friend to another, we're conquering the world, one red thing at a time.
Living around the corner from your best friend. When your mom drops questions about visiting college, and 'making yourself unique' for the hive minds in the admissions office, you scurry off to her house. And she's well equipped with chocolate chips, and CSI marathons. It feels better instantly. That's the best part of this whole friend business. Thanks Carolyn.
It's the first day of February! Too bad we're still taking midterms... But in two weeks we'll be on vacation again and that will be great, as vacations always are.
The patios remain piled high with snow upon ice upon snow but soon they'll melt away and the color scheme outside will be more than white and washed out browns, with the occasional red cardinal fluttering by.
As much as I want it to be warm and to be able to run outside barefoot without worrying about later having to amputate, sometimes I can't help but think that we live in somewhat of a real life winter wonderland.
