At one point in time, there was no time. Weird right. No one had clocks, or bells, or 11 o' clock news. This really wasn't so long ago either. Then came along some person, likely a man, who created the timepiece. I despise this man.
As I've grown up, time has become more and more of an issue in my life, despite the fact that I prefer not to be a slave to the clock, it is taking over so many aspects of my being.
The issue lately is that there aren't enough hours in the day, or the evening. As the days are starting to get longer, homework gets started later, I go to sleep later, it's a vicious cycle. But what about all the things I used to enjoy, just a matter of weeks ago, that don't include doing homework? I went more than a week without knitting. Don't even get me started on the Bernette gathering dust on my shelf.
Some days, just to make sure I do have some extra time to do something, I actually schedule myself, hour by hour, so hopefully by 9 I can eat some ice cream and maybe catch an episode of Gilmore Girls on my computer.
Those days are becoming fewer and fewer, and despite my careful time-keeping, I never have enough time. In fact, when I once was a time-keeper, I'm now more of a time racer, always hoping for an extra minute here and there, caught up in a frenzy of being ahead, and yet somehow, I always lost the race against time, ending up behind and stressed.
So today, in lieu of removing myself completely from the race against time, I'm recommending that each and every one of you takes 30 minutes. Just half an hour. And do something you truly enjoy, it might make you feel better.
Remember, as humans, we created time, and so, at least for a short period, we can throw it right back out the window and leave it for another day.

Skipped a beat
So I know I have a whole day devoted to etsy finds (etsy addiction.. every saturday, if you didn't notice) but this one could not wait. It's from "the love shop" and I am obsessed with it. They have a lot of great prints... All related to love, if you couldn't guess that.

Update via twitter:
postsecret: Pulled from my mailbox today: "I know you think this postcard is for someone else, but it's not, it's for you, believe it - I love you."

To love and to lose

Aside from my two besties here on this blog, I do have other friends, I'm not gonna lie, and they all do too. Since starting the blog, it's actually brought us much closer, we're more a part of each others lives, and for that I am immensely thankful. But, this isn't a post about how much closer I've grown recently with Lilia and Carolyn. It's a post about how things have gone very awry with another very close friend.
So, this past winter S and I had a bit of a falling out, and I was, am, really upset by the situation. I desperately tried to rectify it, I emailed, I talked to. Nothing was working. Recently, while talking to J, she mentioned having spoken with S. I was told S said she, "Didn't miss our friendship."
When you become the type of friend with someone where you're hanging out with them often, and occasionally, as rude as this may be, ditch your real besties on the weekend for this new person, that's not a silly friendship. It's not fairweather, and they tend to be pretty serious. So my first reaction to hearing that was, how could you say that? If something happened to me and Carolyn, I definitely would miss our friendship, the same goes for Lilia.
While pondering what transpired, all I could think of was how wrong the whole situation felt to me, and how rude this was to someone who tried so hard to fix what was broken. And I finally recalled that age old saying. It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Although I lost a friend, at least I had a friend as close as her at some point in my life. And for that I am truly thankful.

Crazy Pink
So, last night I dyed my hair pink, not the whole thing, just the underneath part. I've been periodically coloring my hair like this for a while now, so it wasn't very exciting. However this time, I put my hair in my mom's hands. Since it was a part in the back of my head, I couldn't reach around enough to put the dye on myself, so I called in reinforcements. Well, let my just say that she both had poor listening skills and zero idea what she was doing. I told her many times, 'you have to make the dye start frothing', to which I was given a, 'I don't think this is working, it's not foaming'. Probably because every time I reminded her to make the dye foam, she just put the brush in the little container and added more dye to my hair. Usually when I dye, I'll wash my hair first, let the dye sit for a while and then pop in the shower after to get the dye out, and clean up, naturally. Well, I remove the tinfoil, and pink starts dripping all over. I honestly considered skipping school because of the fact that I would be covered in pink for the rest of my life. So, most of the dye managed to rinse out, but the backs of my ears, the back of my neck, my hands, and the soles of my feets are all still varying shades of fuschia or magenta. The color however, came out nicely.

Oh, hey...
... It's Thursday. And The Office is on! Such a weird show. Really. It started with a bunch of them scaring off this guy who wanted to apply there by going "Eyyy!" and doing the double thumbs up. Uh, what?
I'm not really much of a writer (no AP English for me!) so I don't like writing these long posts. Especially when I have nothing to say and I am just extremely awkward. Ah, so self conscious.
Basically, I just want to let you know that it is, indeed, Thursday, and tomorrow is the long awaited Friday. Oh boy, who doesn't love Fridays?

Wow.
What is the world coming to when 13-year-old boys are fathers?

The Unexpected.
So today, when I checked my email, and saw someone had added me as their friend on Flickr, I was pretty surprised, but not shocked. The shock came later. I went over to my page to see what was up, and checked my inbox. I went to this supposed 'friend's profile, and looked at his pictures. I was the same person who had sought me on Facebook six months ago.
I had assumed he gave up. Apparently he hadn't. Again, I changed my privacy settings, hoping that he couldn't see me (this time there were pictures of me available for him to see). And now, I'm not going onward with ignorant bliss. Now there's this kernel stuck in the back of my mind. What if he knows where I live? Does he know my phone number? What kind of personal information does he have on me?
Apparently when people crawl out of the woodwork, they aren't going away when you disappear. It's like being stuck in a game of cat and mouse. Or more appropriately, being a sad front deck, helpless to the wrath of termites shacking up in your wooden knots. So I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Always expect the unexpected.

Rubber Spatula
First. Post. Ever.
Okay so I get the first post because Alex and Carolyn are playing Mancala and we're about to put on The Devil Wears Prada. So basically I have nothing to blog about.
Andy just met the guy she's gonna sleep with in Paris. Ahh good stuff.
I'm going home because I'm visiting my bro tomorrow in New York and it's like 1230.
So I'm out.
